About Banksy

Banksy is an anonymous British artist whose stencilled images first appeared on the walls of Bristol in the 1990s before spreading to London and to cities around the world. His work pairs a blunt graphic style with pointed commentary on war, policing, consumer culture, surveillance and the art market itself. The authenticated screenprints, released in signed and unsigned editions through Pictures on Walls and later administered by Pest Control, are among the most traded editions in the contemporary market, and his output also spans unique canvases, sculpture and objects, exhibition ephemera, and large-scale projects such as Dismaland and the Walled Off Hotel.
